IBM and TecAccess Host China Accessibility Week

Rockville, VA - October 19, 2009 -- TecAccess, the leading provider of accessible Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions, has partnered with IBM for "China Accessibility Week" in Beihai and Beijin on October 21, 22, and 26th. TecAccess has implemented ICT accessibility strategies for clients all over the world, providing a unique suite of accessibility testing and training focused on WCAG 2.0, Section 508, 504, ADAAA (ADA Amendments Act of 2008) and accessible social media. Bob English, Chief Operating Officer for TecAccess, will travel to China to discuss a range of critical accessibility topics - from testing and remediating software and web applications to conforming to industry regulations and standards.
TecAccess is pleased to participate in the "China Accessibility Week" agenda, which is funded by IBM Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs (CC&CA). Topics will include:
Web Accessibility Assessment, Testing Approach and Tools Workshop- Conducted by TecAccess for China Disabled Persons Federation (CDPF), organized by IBM Human Ability and Accessibility Center (HA&AC). TecAccess will facilitate a training workshop with two sections focusing on web accessibility education and knowledge transfer.
Business Advantage of Accessibility Seminar- Multinational companies, both local and global companies, will be invited to attend. The IBM HA&AC and TecAccess will host a panel that will cover the benefits of targeting people with disabilities, as employees as well as customers, and their contribution to the bottom line and business innovation. The workshop will also cover the "disability workplace culture" as a topic to not only ease large enterprises´ concerns, but prove the measurable business value of including people with disabilities. The focus of the seminar will be on Accommodation, Accessibility and Attitudinal Issues.
